BLOOD PRESSURE

NORVASC (amlodipine) is a type of medicine called a long-acting calcium channel blocker (CCB). NORVASC from Canada (amlodipine) is used to treat high blood pressure (also called “hypertension,” “high-per-TEN-shun.”) NORVASC(amlodipine) is also used to treat a type of chest pain called angina. Angina is often a pain or pressure in your chest that keeps coming back when part of your heart does not get enough blood.

Clonidine comes as a tablet to take by mouth and a patch to apply to the skin. The tablet usually is taken two or three times a day at evenly spaced intervals. The patch is applied to the skin every 7 days. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take clonidine exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

LOTREL contains two prescription medicines that work together to lower blood pressure: amlodipine besylate (the active ingredient found in Norvasc), a calcium channel blocker, and benazepril hydrochloride (Lotensin), an ACE inhibitor. Your doctor will prescribe LOTREL only after other medicines haven't worked.
High Blood Pressure (hypertension). Blood pressure is the force of blood in your blood vessels. You have high blood pressure when the force is too much. LOTREL can help your blood vessels relax so your blood pressure is lower.
